In Response To: letter to Mr. Brimacombe re the Maple Ridge SPCA (Brigitta)

rhino is a virulent virus spread by sneezing. Any utensil used for feeding whether clean or not will be contaminated in that room. Any dummy could figure that out.
This is endangering the health of all animals in the shelter if they are fed with contaminated dishes.
So much for the new cat care guidelines.
The health and welfare of the animals in this shelter are not only at risk but surely a illness sentence of a 6 week isolation.
Maple ridge is not the only shelter with barbaric conditions in the isolation. Vancouver dog isolation is a confinement of 3 foot by 5 foot concrete stalls. The dogs are not allowed blankets on the cement because nadine says the blankets get dirty and they have no washer and dryer. The dogs are isolated for weeks on end. No volunteers are allowed to visit and the dogs are not allowed to be walked. There is no music, no toys allowed and no companionship.
I guess the new dog care guidelines do not apply to the dogs in the iso.
Go look for yourselves. you can see through the windows on the east side of the shelter.
