I hope this is not interpreted by AAS as a hostile, insulting, bickering message and removed.
There are some points related to your response.
AAS: Because those branches are the ones that have shown defiance.
I do not believe Vernon is unionized and I believe they were defiant.
AAS: I just checked with the SPCA amd (sic) Mr Eccles is still a union employee.
Your website identifies Mr Eccles as “Shawn Eccles Vancouver SPCA Director of Field Operations” Is that not a management position? It seems who ever you contacted at the SPCA has misinformed you.
AAS: this defiance of new policy is mainly at branches that have pound contracts.
I assumed since you were addressing a situation in Vancouver you were talking about Vancouver. I’m guilty of jumping to conclusions, my error. (I’m the black pot)
AAS: Well here you are very sadly misinformed. That is the theory, but the reality is very different. That is why unions have grievance committees.
Grievance committees are there to speak for a worker that may have been wronged. It is similar to having a lawyer speak for you. Unions ensure fair and equal treatment by an employer. Arbitrators decide right from wrong. Blaming a union for an inability to discipline is bad management.
