Thank you for alerting us to this insanity! Below you will find a copy of my letter requesting the appeal of the "slap on the wrist" these two abusers received.

Re: Jesse Power and Anthony Wennekers.

I am writing this letter as a form of protest regarding the very lenient sentences these two “men” received when they callously tortured, brutalized and murdered an innocent soul.

When a judge can state, that this "was not the worst offence possible", it leads me to ask the question, what could be the worst offence possible? If this was your beloved pet, a member of your household that was loved and cherished, would you not feel that this was the worst offence possible!

Through many behavioural studies it has been documented time and time again that humans who mutilate and torture animals will often continue to commit even more horrific crimes against humanity, including rape, kidnapping, torture, and murder.

Please appeal the outrageous sentences of these criminals and send a loud message to others that the Canadian legal system will not tolerate animal abuse!

You have a commitment to speak for those who “cannot speak for themselves”!

Sincerely,

Gail Moerkerken
