Good letter, is it your letter Emma? I don't know anything about the Vancouver Pound or its people and couldn't comment on that. But the arguments against going no-kill are sound, basic logic. An SPCA publication in '99 (don't know which) noted that there are 45 cats and 15 dogs for every home in North America. To then declare a euthanasia moratorium when they've done almost nothing about spaying/neutering -- well, either their competence is suspect or their motives. I couldn't bear to kill a healthy, loving pet. But as long as they're breeding, I'm afraid somebody will have to.
