"AUSTIN" killed by Victoria SPCA. Why?

Posted By: Anita Horne
Date: Friday, 12 July 2002, at 12:12 p.m.

March 5 - A young, neutered pup was picked up by the Victoria SPCA and brought to the vet hospital and hospitalized after treatment for a neck injury caused by a chain.

three months later....

June 7 - Austin was killed at the Victoria SPCA

Why was Austin killed? His progress was being followed since he survived the injuries that brought him into the care of the Victoria SPCA. A letter was sent to ask the reasons why Austin was euthanized and no reply was received.

These questions should be answered. In fact, Austin was available for adoption at the Pet Fair held only 3 weeks earlier.

I will post additional information about Austin, his picture and description. And then I will post the letter of inquiry...the one that I haven't received a reply to.
