The London, Ontario, Canada SPCA used to do the animal control for their area and they have a "low-kill" policy and very clean facilities. A couple of years ago they decided not to bid on the animal control contract because it was "not feasible" and now a different organization is doing the animal control for that area. The new Animal Control has already been in hot water for not holding an animal the required 3 days which resulted in someone's family pet being put down before it could be re-claimed. They are not willing to work with rescues at all and they discriminate against certain breeds by not offering them for adoption after their required 3 days is up. This SPCA is more concerned about the almighty dollar than the animals and obviously so is the new Animal Control.
