'Tragedy on the floes' - April 14th Maclean's Magazine:
Canada's annual seal hunt got off to a devastating start, with news that four Quebec fishermen were killed when their boat capsized on the St. Lawrence ice floes.
Tragically, the group's trawler was being towed to safety by a Coast Guard vessel when it suddenly tipped over, tossing the men into the frigid waters.
Adding to the calamity was the reaction of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a militant animal rights group that wasted no time exploiting the incident as yet another reason why the seal "slaughter" should be banned.
Now that's inhumane.
