Going over old emails I came across one that poignantly points out the Code of Silence that the BC SPCA depends on. Volunteers keep quiet or they know dogs and cats they become attached to will be killed.
" This dog is safe, although it never should have happened this way - we both know how the SPCA operates at times, I just don't want to be stopped from being able to get more dogs out in the future due to negative backlash from saving this one.
This problem was because of the assessment tool. "
How sad that a Society with the potential to do good that the BC SPCA has, depends upon such immoral tactics.
