After reading the many posts about SPCA and AAS, I feel like the really old one on the block. My finding out that the SPCA did not "speak for those who cannot speak for themselves" goes away back to the middle 70's. No AAS then.
It seemed if I did not do it myself, it just did not get done. In my search to find others that would help animals (years later) I was told about AAS (no internet then).
And even though I continued to phone the SPCA, in the end it would always be AAS that would come and give the help that was needed. So why would I not give AAS my money?
Yes, if SPCA ever pulls up their socks and starts flying right, I will consider donating to them.
But I will have to have a lot of proof that they have in fact changed their spots. I was always told that a leopard never changes its spots. But we will see.
