The husband was yelling, "I'm livid! The damned SPCA! Some creep just dropped this poor dog off and they gave him a younger dog! He didn't even give a reason, just didn't want it anymore. It's not a car for God's sake!"
The wife was almost as mad. They were angry and incredulous at what they had just witnessed: A man brought his older cross-breed dog to an SPCA and traded it in for a much younger dog. Of course he had to pay for the new dog. And his old dog went up for sale as soon as he signed it over to the SPCA.
Or did it? What became of that dog? When last seen, it was standing dejectedly in an SPCA cell, its head down. When the complainant went back to the SPCA to see if she could buy the dog for AAS, it wasn't there anymore and staff were curiously unaware of the whole loud incident.
The SPCA is more than capable of ruining its own reputation.
