I'm not naive enough to believe that this does not go on in Canada...almost wish I were, just for peace of mind.
What I want to know is, where is the indignant outcry here? Is the D.E.L.T.A. Rescue in California the only one following this obscene story?
As the story mentions, even vegetarians are at risk, so there is no comfort in knowing we don't eat animals - we are certainly eating their by-products whether we like it or not. And there is the key phrase: whether we like it or not.
Our entire society is shackled to the whims of unethical, uncaring and greedy people whose sole aim in life is making money, and innocents be damned.
Where do we go from here? AAS and members are certainly leading the way in exposing and altering a myriad of wrongs with animal welfare, but how do we get this message further afield?
That wasn't a rhetorical question - I am hoping someone has ideas about where we go from here. We need large-scale organizations with major clout to pick up this issue and run with it in the media. California has their 'Hollywood types' to get attention; who do we get?
