CBC comments: Please, don't make fast judgements based on news releases and spinning by the SPCA *LINK*

Please don't make any wrong assumptions about Forgotten Felines and the recent raid by the SPCA. Penny Marsh has dedicated 30 years of her life to caring for abandoned and beaten animals. She has provided a service where seniors can get help in paying for food for their adopted animals. She has a fostering plan. She works with a group of volunteers who do their level best to keep up with the demand for homes for those felines truly forgotten and abused by society.

Some people in our world abuse, maim, neglect and torture animals...and the rest of us try to pick up the pieces. .

Penny runs a no-kill shelter. I believe she was trying to treat those 48 sick animals in a trailer, separate from the main area, so the rest of the cats wouldn't be affected.

My question is: Why do those who proport to love and care for animals, like the SPCA, try to pillory and embarass someone like Penny who has done nothing but try to help make a dint in the countless numbers of animals who need help?

I understand in the past, the SPCA has delivered animals into her care. Why do animal help groups not work together - surely the goal is to improve life for abused animals - and there's more than enough work for everyone. Why does the SPCA not work hand in hand with groups like Forgotten Felines instead of stqging military raids. Surely there could have been discussion and an attempt to help Forgotten Felines if they felt the situation was overwhelming for volunteers?

Please, don't make fast judgements based on news releases and spinning by the SPCA. Let's find out what's truly going on here, before we dismiss this woman and her 30-year track record of being a friend and defender of animals. Ask questions. One question might be is it really necessary to wear bullet-proof vests when making these raids? I would like some answers from the SPCA.

Worse than zoos
Penny has no convenient "unadoptable" label which she uses to kill cats
How many times has the SPCA harried Forgotten Felines since its first disastrous raid in 2003? And what has it cost?
There are dogs living in lightless garages, in pens, in sheds...
Don't forget, what can be done to Penny can be done to anyone
Penny has always had many sick animals, just like our local SPCA shelter has

Question: When is the media going to finally see another side to the SPCA's seizures?
